Sentoo received the CITI Innovation Award 2024 and the Business Innovation Award

Sentoo received the CITI Innovation Award 2024 and the Business Innovation Award. The CITI Innovation Award celebrates and honors the most innovative product, service, or solution introduced in Curaçao in 2024. The jury acknowledged Sentoo’s significant contributions to simplifying domestic instant payments and fostering economic growth through innovative technology. In addition to winning the CITI Innovation Award 2024 overall prize, Sentoo was also recognized with the Business Innovation Award.

Sentoo aims to simplify domestic instant payments for individuals and businesses. The company achieves this by developing technology and tools for businesses and banks looking to offer their local customers a more seamless and secure payment experience. Since the launch of its Account-to-Account payment method in 2022, Sentoo has partnered with multiple local banks across the Dutch Caribbean. Numerous merchants are connected to its services, enabling them to accept local online payments through QR codes, payment links, on e-commerce platforms, or in-store. Consumers have also adopted Sentoo’s peer-to-peer payment request app, Sentoo.me, which boasted 12,000 active users in its first year.

The CITI Innovation Award ceremony took place on Tuesday, October 8, 2024. The prestigious award is open to all businesses and entrepreneurs on the island that use digital technology to drive positive change. 2024 marked the 26th year the Curacao Innovation & Technology Institute has organized the Award. The institute, founded by the Ministry of Economic Development of Curaçao, promotes opportunities for Curaçao to become more creative, competitive, sustainable, and resilient.
